From the IUSTV Programming Description: "Destructo Box is a brand new series featuring destruction, mayhem, and 90 degree angles. Each Destructo Box episode is comprised of an unrelated story taking place in the same town. While appearing normal on the surface, horrifying things happen in this city of flat, cheaply animated characters. How terrible can one square's life be? A more important question: how offended can you get from talking rectangles?" History The unique and simple look behind the skit-based series Destructo Box is the brainchild of character designers Joey Reinisch and Chad Dabney. The plain rectangular figures led to co-creator Phil McLaughlin and Reinisch teaming up to create a number of different forms and ideas for the show itself. The original plan for the show was based around one town in which every day resulted in the end of the world, hence the title of the show. The original run-time was roughly thirty minutes and contained three unrelated stories that occurred on the same day. However, this show design didn't pan out as originally intended, and, to ease the cast and crew's already hectic academic schedules, the show turned to a ten minutes or less, skit based format. Production The scripting, storyboarding, voice acting, "set design," and animation of an episode of Destructo Box is brought about by the creators, their friends, and the staff at IUSTV. Episodes To date, there have been four episodes created. The first three episodes were originally part of the only thirty minute episode produced before switching to the ten minute format. They were subsequently cut into their respective ten minute skits and fitted with appropriate credits. Each episode is preceded by the farcical disclaimer "Destructo Box is intended for immature audiences. If you are unable to find the humor in the horrible, please look away or turn the channel now. Thank you."
